this place is a cozy and interesting- it is connected to the shop! i like that the menu was very straightforward. we got one iced americano and one iced salted maple latte with almond milk. the latte was strong and i liked the savory element.
Cozy local coffee shop in downtown Worthington. The coffee and is fresh and the baked goods (scones!) are tasty. I liked the countertop seating facing the street which allows you to appreciate the neighborhood.
A little crowded but very cute. There's local artwork on the walls and a little shop in the back. I got an almond milk latte and it was nice! Good standard fair.
We decided to do mini cupcakes instead of traditional wedding cake for our guests. We contacted Kittie's cakes to set up a tasing and met Diane at the Worthington Kittie's. She brought a sample of 4 of their most popular cupcakes and talked to us about our different options. We ultimately decided to do a small round cake for the traditional cake cutting for us, and multiple dozens of six different flavors of cupcakes. They were such a hit! Our guests loved having different options and every one of the flavors was delicious. We provided little boxes for guests to take some home at the end of the night and there were only a handful left for us to take home (which was great!). In addition to having delicious cupcakes, Diane was wonderful to work with. She answered all of our emails in a timely manner and made suggestions about the amount of cupcakes to purchase for the number of guests we were expecting. Delivery was on time, and all the different flavors looked so pretty all together. I'll add a picture once we get them back from the photographer. 10/10 would recommend!
Met up with some friends at Highline for coffee and it's a nice little spot to grab something hot to drink.
Had the honey apple cider and it was super good and not too sweet.
Place looks super nice, very chill, but its pretty small so don't go there with more than 4 people hoping to sit and chat for awhile.
UPDATE: I revisited Highline recently which is now under new ownership. The matcha I had was traditionally prepared and sweetened to my specifications. Revising my review accordingly!
ORIGINAL REVIEW (SEE RECIPE BELOW IF INTERESTED): I'd love to give Highline 5 stars ~ great location, great aesthetic, and I've loved seeing it grow! My go-to drink is a matcha latte with non-dairy milk - so much so that I make them at home regularly and have taken to perfecting my recipe. But sometimes I want a hot beverage when I am about town. My most recent experience w/ Highline's matcha was not pleasant so I'm posting here ONLY because I don't have Insta and that seems to be the only way to direct message (I really appreciate you all, Highline!). Based on the pale green of the drink I received (see pic), I wonder if culinary matcha has been subbed in here for a more ceremonial grade. This is SO common because the ceremonial grade stuff is $$. But the supposed culinary result was low on flavor and left me with something of a lingering, scalded aftertaste as though the milk had been overheated. Did not drink :( My home recipe for success has involved a shift to *granulated* maple syrup *bless*, I add a tablespoon to an empty mug, froth 2 oz water with 1/4 tsp ceremonial grade matcha, add to mug. Then froth 4oz non-dairy milk, top of mug. The drink mixes itself so no stirring! Lots of recipes call for 1 or even 2 tsp matcha and I find the outcome is still excellent with less matcha ~ which also makes for a more cost-effective ceremonial equation. Happy to see Highline thrive and hope this encouragement can help make a good operation better!
Super cute coffee shop with a gift shop full of handmade awesomeness. I got a juniper latte...something I'd never heard of before. It was really good! Staff was happy to answer my questions as I tried to decide what to get and were all very friendly!
While the food is great and the cozy café vibes are phenomenal, I find the service at Kittie's Cakes to be lacking. Rude baristas talking and talking, correcting and being passive aggressive, mentioning illness they might have and mocking …
